Compressing AVI files

CPU/Ram: Not Sure

I have quick time videos on my Mac (OSX)
that I need to convert to play .avi files on
the web.

I also have a PC with Windows XP.
I know of Sorenson Squeeze however I
only think they compress Quick Time
files.

Help! Thanks

get quick time pro for windows...it converts mov files into avi
