there are many programs that will do this.
if your looking to convert the file to vobs then burn to dvd i use ConvertXtoDVD for all my video files.
my record so far with this is 5 different videos with menu on one dvd = 4h.59 minites 26seconds on a 4.7 dvd.
thats on the high quality setting.

I was going to suggest DivxToDVD but upon checking out ConvertXtoDVD that is the former name for DivXtoDVD and is no longer a freeware program [sigh] and much improved by the looks of it. The old program was excellent for PAL systems on a 4.7 disc [3 hours at 80% space used was my best] but sometimes doesn't sync right after converting avi to vob.

Must try out the new one myself now.

If it ain't broke, let me fix it anyway...I need the experience.

You can use MS Movie Maker which comes with XP.

Google the web for details.
