I have uninstalled realplayer, but still have a bunch of files in places like the system32 folder and program/commonfiles folder. I read the archives describing using rlclean.exe (I think) and a link to real.com, however there doesn't seem to be a search page on the site anymore. Is there a program that will completely unistall it or detailed instructions somewhere on the net as to what is safe to delete. Real Player sure does leave a lot of baggage behind when you uninstall it. Thanks.

Found this on another site. HTH.

Find your way to this folder: C:Program FilesRealRealPlayerSetup and click on the file: r1pclean.exe this will uninstall real player. You may see a message telling you it can't do it but after clicking that away it should carry on and uninstall. After that you could go to: http://www.spybot.info/en/index.html and download this very good spyware killer just to put your mind at ease. !

Hi, per.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, the r1pclean.exe program didn't not get rid of other realplayer files in the system32 folder or in the program / common files folder. In addition, I see a file that seems to be a setup file for a Real internet toolbar. I do not have the toolbar installed however. It is just that I would like to know what can safely be deleted.

Thank you,

KRastro

Once you have got rid of all the RealPlayer crud. Go here and get Real Player Alternative with no crapware and it's free...

Just delete them and run a registry cleaner like CCLEANER or REGSEEKER.
