Compare contents of two 1TB hard drives

December 1, 2010 at 16:22:25
Specs: Windows XP
How do I compare the data of two hard disks. I have copied a hard disk (1 tera byte), to another hard disk (again 1 tera byte). But the size of data in the new hard disk is almost 100 Mega byte ┬┤less than the original one. Now I would like compare the data, to find out which files (or directories/sub-directories/sub.../directories)are missing. How do I do it. My operative system is Windows XP.

This would not account for 100MB difference, but... if one was a boot/OS disk, "copying" would never amount to the same size.

But let's be clear: how did you come to this 100MB-difference conclusion? "Size on disk"? "Free space"? I expect not, but it is not clear, and I have learned (still learning...) to not assume too much . Please be clear.
