Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 1.794 GHz / 639 MB
There have been many posts on this subject but none I can find with these symptoms.
Monitor randomly displays "no Signal", goes blank.
Further info...after monitor blanks out.
Monitor power light still glows.
Led's for caps and num lock do not light when key pressed, and spacebar and mouse movement have no effect.
On last occurrence spyware program was running, the hard drive LED continued to flash. My wireless connection LED still showed as being connected - when computer turns off it extinguishes. The only thing I can do is hit the restart button when all comes OK again. Tried updating the driver for the display card (NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440) but none found. The monitor has been OK over the last 2 years when bought secondhand. Problem shows intermittently from a couple of months ago. Where to now?
Thanks in anticipation.

"Led's for caps and num lock do not light when key pressed, and spacebar and mouse movement have no effect."

This leads me to suspect your problem is nothing to do with the monitor. You may have an intermittant fault in graphics card, even an overheating issue with either the card or CPU.

Have you done anything to check system temperatures?

Monitor indicator light should normally be green.
A yellow,or orange, monitor indicator light indicates
no signal is getting to the monitor from the video
card. Could be the card is not sending a signal, or
problem with the cable or connectors.
Card may not be seated properly.
