Had a problem with a computer didn’t have much data on it decided it would be easier and cheaper to format and reinstall windows xp pro. after doing this it automatically starts in safe mode and i don’t get the option to start in normal i found in a forum someone said change startup sting in msconfig uncheck safe something i can’t remember this was already unchecked and made no difference

For doing format and install of XP, I personally say to do such things with the computer having only the hardware that was on it when you purchased it. Meaning that any hardware you installed after purchase should be removed before the XP install.

Boot.ini and uncheck /safe

I remember that in the earlier version of Windows, computer would go to the Safe-Mode if a setting in BIOS was wrong, or if HDD would not boot. OR maybe RAM could not load XP.
Parts can go bad when you need them the most.
