I have looked at other posts and was unable to find a solution to my problem, hopefully someone can help. Compaq technical support seems to think I'm crazy. Here's my problem: I ran some stupid game I downloaded. It obviously wasn't compatible with my computer, since it started to run but then abruptly stopped and returned me to my windows desktop. When I saw my desktop, it was different. My picture was(and is still) not filling my monitor's display surface area. There is a half centimetre of black all around my screen. My resolution hasn't changed as far as I can tell; everything I see is the same relative size that it was. I can use my monitor's controls to stretch the picture, but I have to go about 30% over the default to get it to look sort of normal. That shouldn't be necessary. I don't know if I have explained this well enough but I will try to do better if someone thinks they can help me. Thank you very much.

Hi
The only thing I can suggest is... have you got a system restore point to a date before you installed the software

This is one of the reasons so called techsupport warranties are diminishing by the hour.

There are some rules of thumb with PC's

1. Never install incompatible software and if you insist on doing that, create a restore point first.

2. Never call techsupport if the issue is resolved, but you still want closure you will sound ludicrous to them.

3. When a sudden software installation modifies your PC configuration and you seem lost contact the vendor.

Lastly if you have borders around your background doodle some @!/#*@! graffiti there,it makes some nice piece of art..lol ;~)
