i have a problem with my compact flash / smart media card reader (for use with digital cameras etc), my problem begin when i install the drivers which are intended for windows 2000. after a reboot windows hangs at the last screen before loading and iam forced to shutdown or reboot. prior to this my system works fine and shows no signs of any conflicts. and has never crashed before. all my drivers are upto date with the latest from the manufacturers website. my system consists of :-
windows xp
norton systemworks (but still crashes before systemworks)

320 meg pc100 ram
geforce 2
celeron 800
60 gig hard drive
dvd drive

Garry.

ps the drivers are working in windows 2000,windows me & windows 98 using the relevant supplied drivers.

What brand reader do you have.

I have a Lexar and had the same problem until I downloaded version 4.6 from their driver website. Now it works fine with no problems.

Their regular site did not mention version 4.6, it only mentioned version 4.5 which did not work right. Emailed tech support and they sent me the site address. If you need it, I will dig it out.

Try this site. It is an alternative Lexar site given to me by the lexar tech support.
