Can you tell me what will happen if I delete all the files in C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch. I have been told that doing this will enable my comp to boot up faster with only the things I need running. Of course when I use other applications in time they will get put back but I need to keep this folder to a minimum with apps to start up from.

Hi I dont keep any thing in prefetch, never have. I got a little prog called prefetch control off Google. Via "MajorGeeks" Type "Prefetch Control" in google to see the one I have TERRYCO

IF it takes 15min for your PC to start up, I highly doubt the Prefetch Data is the culprit, at least not the only one. Try using CCleaner. In the Advanced menu you can put a check next to 'old prefetch data' & it will be removed each time you run the program: http://www.filehippo.com/download_c... You can also use CCleaner to see what programs you have loading at startup. Click on 'Tools' on the left side, then click 'Startup'. I have 8 items on my startup list & I know what each one is...
