1) Win XP installed all my drivers except the modem so I tried to do this manually but I have Com1 and Com2 but my modem uses Com4 so when I tried to install it there were a problem and Com3 and Com4 didn't run and I can't use my modem.
2) Win XP identifies my modem as "PCI Simple Communication Controller" and when I tried to install it with the drivers I used to setup my modem on my Win ME it didn't work and I don't know what's the name of the modem and the company, my Win ME drivers installs "MT MR Modem (ME Edition)".
What to do??żż??

You need to physicall look at the modem, and find out what kind it is. This is very important, as then I can look into this further for you.

This is terrible, I opened my computer, plugged out the modem and looked for a sticker or anything with the name of the company or the modem model but I didn't find anything...
what can I do??
I don't want to format and reinstall Win ME I want XP, but I can't even install the Com ports that I need... arrrrrr
If somebody knows what can I do to solve at least one of my problems please help!!
I can't surf the internet from my little brother's computer forever!!

Hi
Did you have any luck getting this problem solved?
I am very interested because I am having the same problem, except my setup is installing Windows 2000 over WinME on a Gateway computer.
Colin

I installed windows 2000 over ME and I cant set up the internet connection through the wizard. I cant query my modem and 2000 doesnt have a driver for the pci simple communication controller I have. I pulled modem out but have no identification on the card. Before losing ME it was identified as a "v90 k56flex pci" Any help would be very appreciated.
