Hello,

When I try to execute commands in command prompt, I get " "blah blah" is not recognized as and internal or external command operable program or batch file".

IE: "ipconfig \all" or anything els.

Damaged windows file?

ok it seems to be a path problem. Right click on my computer and go to properties. Go to the advance tab and click on the advance tab. Go to enviroment variables and find path under system variables. Double click it and change the variable value to
"%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%systemroot%\programfiles\quicktime\qtsystem"

Now try ipconfig /all and hopefuly it will work.

I don't know about gatecrasha, but it fixed mine.

What do you think changed the path like that?

On my machine, I could only get CMD.exe to work properly by clicking the .exe in the %system32% folder. None of the cmd windows that opened from the "run" slot or the "accessories" list would work.

They work now. Thanks!

My guess would be that quicktime has some commands available from the command prompt so it has tried adding that folder to the path variable. But it had deleted the other paths in the process. The usual path variable is just %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem
but i added in the quicktime path to keep it usable. Allthough I'm no expert so That is just a guess. Glad I could help though FJ. Hopefully it helps gatecrasha.

I'll google and learn variables now that there is something els to learn about.

Yea, I'll just use the original path because I cant stand quicktime.
