Hi, i have been having problems with Dos, i recive an error message saying "the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsfot windows applications"..i went to microsofts site and it sounds like my dos files are screwed up, is there a way i can "reinstall" (i dont know if thats the correct word)..but reinstall Dos files ?

furball6390, Is this what you're referring to.

"Error message when you install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit Windows-based program"

If it is here's some info and the link below has Microsoft's explantion and solution to that error message.

You may want to go to the link below and download "XP_Fix.EXE".
"This installaton program will reinstall the missing or corrupt Windows XP system files command.com, autoexec.nt and config.nt. The absence or corruption of one or more of these files causes a "16 Bit Subsystem" error".

"We recommend that you download this file and save it to your desktop or to another location where you can find it. Double click on the file to run it once it's downloaded. If problem reoccurs in the future, simply re-run this program".

The above basically accomplishes what the Microsoft solution accomplishes much easier.

I do not know how this occured, i do not use the command prompt much.
