Number pad should work just fine (press num lock key).

Keyboards are cheap. You could probably pick a new one up for $5 U.S.

alt+0052 can activate the number as well (several other alt codes will get the value too, but 0052 will work).

Hold down the ALT key then press 0052 keys and a 4 will appear in whatever document you are typing in.

Good luck.

Go to the HOWTO section, there's an extensive HOWTO on cleaning your keyboard.

Keep in mind, it IS extensive, but it works like a dream.

Dear Red:

This may sound crazy, but it is proven. Run your keyboard under a shower head, and allow it to dry on its own. However, it looks like the keyboard is damaged, just replace it, because it makes no sense to fix something like a keyboard. Even the manufacturer would toss it out if you were to send it to them. Good luck, and happy computing.

some of you forget we all dont' buy the cheap 5 buck keyboards. Mine is 70 bucks! and I had spilled a can of soda on it.

Do as ray explained, dissasemble the keyboad and run under shower, let dry, it should work, if it doesn't and it's under a year you had your key board call the manufacturer directly and ask for a replacement telling them only that it stopped working.

I did this and most of my keys worked except the F1 through F12, Logitech replaced my keyboard for free and let me keep the orginal.

Lets not forget the golden rule. Don't place a drink or consume a drink over your keyboard. Liquids and computers don't mix. So keep those drinks as far away from the keyboard as you can.

Hi Red Death.

My nephew spilled pop on my sister's keyboard.

I pulled the keys off that were sticking, took a Q-tip wet with glass cleaner and cleaned the inside of the keys as well as the place I pulled the keys off from.

The keyboard works fine now.

Take care,

Linda
