problem:

i downloaded this movie recently (bourne identity).. when i play it.. there is this problem which is kind of difficult to explain..

it seems like when the scene changes in the movie to the next scene, the previous scene doesn't completely disappear and the new scene is overlayed on the old one and eventually as the movement in the new scene progresses.... the sound and the 'quality'(in a minor sense) is good.. it's just that when the scene changes the old scene hasn't totally been replaced and so it totally interferes with the new scene.. the pictures is difficult to differentiate..

i have the codecs.. and i'm sure i've installed whatever i need.. my question is that was the movie dubbed wrong or what.. or is there a way to fix this problem..

thanx in advance

Did you try to run the .AVI on Gspot a nifty
program that will tell you what codec to use
how it is dubbed etc.

There is nothing wrong with the codec you have. This is typical of a very bad AVI rip. Try downloading the movie again from a different source

hi,

i ran GSpot.. it said that the required codec is Xvid and that it's installed on my system and the movie should play fine..

the only other explanation for the movie not playing well is what Ron suggested.. this just happens to be a garbage rip. is there a way to fix the rip somehow magically.. cause downloading it again will take toooooo much time..

i had the exact same problem, and if you havent fixed it yet here it is..make sure you have installed your fave codec pack (nimo for me) make sure it installs the xvid codec and then when its done..type this in a command prompt or in the start menu run box...
regsvr32 /u ffdshow.ax

completly and instantaniously worked..good luck!
