I just installed a Western Digital Caviar RE WD2500YD 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive and I plugged it into my SATA150 connection on my ASROCK motherboard (listed in signature) and installed everything correctly (so i think). When I turned on the system, i checked My Computer and the new hdd hadn't popped up. I looked in Device Manager, and my VIA SATA RAID Controller has a "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" error.

Did I fail to see a missing jumper (though i don't believe the motherboard has a hardware configuration option/jumper for it? Is it a software issue with the VIA driver i already installed?

Any suggestions?

i actual figured it out.

I wasn't using it in a RAID array, so i configured the jumpers #5 & #6 together so it will work as an independant volume.

Thanks for the replies!
