I cant go into things such as Control panel options, because the cmd thing runs, and closes, with nothing after that. Ive tried scanning my computer, and what not. Please help. Thanks :)

Hi,

If you have "System Restore" enabled, use it and go back to a time before this problem started: Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->System Restore.

If not, another option may be "System File Checker" (SFC): Start-->Run and type "SFC /SCANNOW" without the quotes. Note: you may need your Windows installation CD for SFC.

And last but not least, you could try a Repair install, although it may be best to wait for other replies before taking this route.

Hi,

I found this .vbs file on dougknox.com, it doesnt seem an exact match for your problem but I would at least try it:
