Now none of the programs on my computer work, ifact internet explorer and msn is the only thing working, does anybody know how i can fix this?

As cmd.exe will probably not even run in Safe Mode then, if necessary, you could use another XP machine to produce a BartPE CD - very handy.

You boot to that then use the inbuilt file manager to get to cmd.exe (it's in c:\windows\system32).

You can then use the info in post #4 to input your new script to undo the changes.

There are also programs around to fix .exe associations in particular. You could put one on a floppy then use BartPE to execute it.

Why did you run that command to begin with? Have you tried a Repair Install? What OS are you running?

Re #7. That's why I suggested creating a BartPE CD on some working XP. The command prompt will then run because it loads a limited form of XP from the CD (ignoring your changes which prevented cmd from working).

I assume it is XP as it has been posted here. BartPE will also run on W98 tho.
