Lower right hand corner, After connecting to the Internet I get a pop up Svchost.exe trying to connect notice from Sygate, if I close it it does not seem to close all the way like it leaves half of the frame the square part on the desktop, also notice when I close my internet connection lately it takes as much as 30 seconds or more to close, have no spyware or virus.

Configure your sygate to allow svchost.exe to begin with, it is a native windows xp service that will not harm your pc, however, it needs internet access when available.
