I am currently dual booting XP and 98 on seperate drives using Cmos setup to switch boot order all is working fine. I recently bought a 40 gig hard drive and installed 98, I want to clone and add XP to this drive to have it dual boot from the same drive. Xp is currently on a 6 gig hd which is too small. I used partion magic to partition the 40 gig hd and copy the 6 with XP onto it but it would not boot (missing Dll file) and was very clumsy to switch between 98 and what should have been XP, required resetting active drives etc.. Is there another way? I have everything perfectly set up on the XP drive and really really don't want to start over. I know I am missing something, please help
Thank you

What are you using to image the XP drive? I have done this many times with Norton Ghost and have not had troubles.
Trying to make sure I understand this do you have both drives still in the PC? Are their jumpers set properly? I would search the Micrsoft Knowledge Base to check the boot.ini file to make sure it is correct also.

I was using Partition magic 7, and I now haveDrive image 2002. I have both drives still installed, Each has its own perfectly functioning operating system, what I want to do is put a clone of the XP drive onto the one with 98 and dual boot from just the one drive, I am nearly out of space on the XP drive. I copied the xp drive onto the 98 drive with Partition Magic but it wouldn't boot. the jumpers are set as the 40 gig as the master the 6 gig as the slave I use Cmos to switch the boot order now to go between operating systems. Thanks again
