In WinXP Is there a way to have Windows display folders so that a single-click will show a .html or .js file in IE, and a double-click will bring up their source code in Notepad? I get tired of having to right-click and choose one or the other. If Windows can't do this, is there a 3d-party file utility that will?

Well, i can't really help you with finding a program that will assist in fixing your problem but i can tell you that i don't think there is a way to have a single click open a file in one program and a double-click open that same file in another program.
Both of these actions involve executing the file with a different program, but you can only set either double-click or single-click to execute a file.
In simple terms, single-click or double-click will always have to be used to select and icon and the other will be used to execute the object.
There may be a program out there that allows you to have the configuration that you want, but it is highly unlikely that there is.
Best of luck...
