Comment: Hi Guys My hard disk was fell down very light from the table . it was ready to use it as external hard .but the falling was very short hight like 30cm and light on the carpete.then when i did try it .it came click noise and the computer showed error. then i did open the cover of the hard and i did open the other hard the same type to see is somthing lose and compare maybe silly then other hard also got the same click noise , in fact i lost both of them . IS THERE ANYWAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OR JUST I LOST BOTH HARDS? please inform me . thx I hope we be helpful to eachother.

Reply: There are no user servicable parts inside a harddrive. They should not ever be opened outside a "Cleanroom" as even a single tiny dustmote can get between the read-write heads and disk surface and destroy the whole thing. Your drives are toast. If there is any data worth the expense send them to a data recovery service. I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

Reply: You could try a bootable cd, like Hirens Boot cd or Ultimate Boot disk 4 windows, or Knoppix. Boot the cd up, & see if you can copy any of the files from the hard disk.
