click & drag corrupts files

whenever i click and drag a file (jpeg, mpeg, .doc etc) to another directory i can no longer open/use the file in its new location. it come up with "access denied, make sure the disc is not full... etc)
any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

try right click copy, then right click paste,then you can delete the original.until you get it fixed.
