clear past items in xp taskbar

My & a friends problem is we have no " IconStreams and PastIconsStream" listed anywhere in the registry, they must be stored somewhere else. Anyone no where? Or some other way to remove them or keep them from there ALTOGETHER.

Grimples, Follow the instructions exactly as shown at the link below. I just checked my XP machine and those entries are where the link shows then to be.
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\TrayNotify
Delete the IconStreams and PastIconsStream values.

TrayNotify is EMPTY, apart from (Default) REG_SZ (value not set). I will state again, there are no instances of "IconStreams" or "PastIconsStream" in my registry or anywhere else on my PC. I will admit that i mess around with the OS a lot. I have removed a lot of services using XPLite & disabled most of the rest that it does'nt. Maybe it could be something to do with those.
