Cleanmgr.exe hangs

When I try to run disk cleaner it hangs and I finally have to close it manually by closing down the process. It opens but hangs after the progress bar gets to the the 3rd notch where it says compressing old files. I've run chkdisk but this didn't help. Is there a way I can reinstall cleanmgr.exe from the Windows installation disk without having to reinstall everything else? Thanks.

wally, Is it hanging or is it compressing a lot of old files? Sometimes it takes a lot of time to compress the files if you have not done it in a while rc
