I have reloaded my OS (MCE) and after adding programs, have noticed some lagg, or that my computers performance has slowed down.

I have performed a disk clean up and disk defrag(using what came with Windows), but...
I am wondering if Microsoft has a registry cleaner or fixer to keep my computer up to its potential peak performance.

I have used numerous types of registry cleaners and they work for a day or 2 then usually just get the lack of performance back.

Is there a add on from Microsoft that will clean and optimize my computer or a 3rd party program approved by Microsoft that will give me a long term fix?

I guess, there is another problem, if your cleaning action only works for 1 or 2 days.
You should have istalled and activated a firewall, antivirus and antispyware.
The computer should be checked for viruses, spyware and malware.
Firewall should be setup properly.

This should help to keep your computer running smoothly.

Microsoft have OneCare which is pretty much a system care program. You can try it online here and see what it does.

well, i just ran iobit and found like 60 malwares (w/e those are)...I just reloaded earlier today and after loading all necessary programs, now I need to resolve any damage incurred.

What do you mean by setting up the firewall? I just use what came with the system, and..I checked the Don't allow exceptions box under neath the Enable Firewall check box, and...I use freeware programs from cnet. After a fresh reload I downloaded AVG virus scanner, and just kept adding programs after running a full virus scan till I had all the necessary programs.

Any recommendations?

Ok, when using microsoft firewall, you can't really change so much and you don't have to.
It's ok for you.
But you always should use an up to date antivirus software and antispyware software.
Both should do an automatic daily update.
For registry cleaning, the best program I ever used is jv16 Powertools.
This is not a free to use software, but it's worth the money you have to pay for it.
You can try it 30 days for free.

ah,

After running iobit, it gave me a list of tracking cookies(thats is what it ment by 60 malwares found).

Is that because my IE settings need to be changed?

No, tracking cookies are not harmful for the system, but can be tracked not only by the server, that created that cookie.

"i just ran iobit"

Get rid of IObit & use Malwarebyte's AntiMalware:

And if you feel you need a regcleaner, use CCleaner Slim.
