Clean instalation of windows

CPU/Ram: Athlon xp 2600 512 ram

Hello my problem is i just got a new computer and it comes with alot of software i dont need i want to format my computer and then install my OS again but when i tried to see if i was gonna be able to install it from dos it said that this program can only run under windows so i dont know how to do

Boot from the XP CD... set your optical drive as a boot device in the BIOS (before your hard drive), insert the XP CD, and reboot.

If you must install from DOS, don't run setup.exe... run winnt.exe. It's located in the i386 folder on your XP CD.

Of course, if your XP CD says something like "Proprietary almost-XP CD: XP with ALL the cheese" on it, i.e., a restore CD, good luck in setting up the OS without the add-ons.
