Chkdsk not running from start up

Specs: Windows XP
I've tried everything so far and have browsed other topic about it but nothing seems to work for me. I tried both from CMD and from My computer neither worked. Task Schedualing was on but whenever I rebooted the chkdsk never started and I went straight to start up, I've also checked to see if my c: was dirty, and it is

At the cmd prompt did you type
chkdsk /f or
chkdsk /r ?

Did you get a question after that? If so what did you answer?

Yeah I did do those and I did get the question but when I rebooted it went straight to start up. Also I put Y for yes for the question it asked
