My computer now executes CHKDSK on every boot. Says the HDD has inconsistences and has to check it. Any idea how to stop this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Chkdsk.exe or Autochk.exe starts when you try to shut down or restart your computer

Run a HDD utility and see if your HDD has problems.
Back up anything of value on this HDD and don't put anything on it that you can't afford to lose until you are sure it's OK.

To check the disk, go to Start > Run and type:
chkdsk /r
It will run on the next reboot and will take a LONG time. It checks every sector on the drive.Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
