I have:
Windows XP Pro
1.5gig AMD
512megs PC133 RAM
40 GIG Hardive 2 partitions
C:\ 13.4 Gigs free
D:\ 14.2 Gigs freeEvery time I boot, chkdsk wants to run. I can "hit any key to stop" at the promt and it will load and run forever without errors.
It will not allow me to run defrag, It states this error, " Disk defragmenter has detected that chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (c:). Please run Chkdsk /f."
(I can defrag d:\)
When I try to run Chkdsk it say it cannot, would you like to schedule it next time you reboot? I've clicked on yes and rebooted to the same conclusion.Ive checked the registry under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, and checked "msconfig, startup tab"
Any other ideas

You need to let chkdsk run without cancelling it. Otherwise it will always say that it's scheduled.
Richard

type in a dos window chkntfs /X c: (or whatever your drive letter is). this will exclude the drive from checkdisk

I have let it run through the process, But it continues to want to check it even after it has checked it.
When this first started, It would check it, reboot, check it again, reboot, check it again, ect. ect. I let it run for 30 minutes one day.
