Comment:

When you have a bad shutdown, checkdisk runs automatically on the next boot, and it gives you 10 seconds to press any key to cancel. Since I believe in running checkdisk, can I decrease that 10 second wait to something less. I am sure it is located in the registry or some .inf file but I cant find it...Thanx Happy Holidays

Found it, just in case anybody else wants this....

XP Shorten the Checkdisk boot up delay

Start regedit.exe and locate the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\

"AutoChkTimeOut"=dword:00000010

The default is 10 seconds. Change it to less to decrease the time you have

To cancel checkdisk.
