hi im wondering is it possible to change the graphics card on my new laptop?? i was told it could be done either by changing it or getting an external grapgics card.

It is possible depending on your laptop. Depending on the type of MB your laptop is equipped with, some will allow a Graphics card upgrade and some have integrated cards which is unchangable.

Why buy a laptop, then turn around and start looking for a way to upgrade the graphics chipset shortly thereafter, not only is it counter-intuitive, it is also a cost ineffective way of doing things even if you have a laptop with a modular graphics chip - IMHO.
You could have saved yourself the trouble and upgraded the graphics chip on the laptop at the time of order.
