Help...If I change my printer port to EPP (via BIOS setting), on booting Windows I get a dreaded Blue Screen: "STOP 0x000000D1 (0x0,0x2,0x0,0x0) DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL". Same thing in "Safe" mode. Have to putz and pray and curse just to get things working again w port set back to ECP. What's up with that?
Further I noticed that in the list of port types to install in XP's "add hardware" wiz, there was no EPP, just ECP & std parallel. Why don't I see EPP as an option.
I've been trying to get an Acer 320p scanner (w parallel/SCSI interface) to work on Windows XP. XP installed a driver (EPPSCSI.SYS) and I installed Mirascan s/w (allegedly for XP) and everything looks OK but on scanning it says it can't communicate with scanner (is it plugged in, etc.). I see here messages suggesting port must be EPP mode to work but I can't seem to do this?!
Thanks. Really really appreciate any help with this.
PS. Did they take the "Imaging" program (std accessory under Win9x) out of XP? I can't find it.
