I've searched the XP forum and I couldn't find an answer, so I'm going to go ahead and ask.
I want to change a certain name on my computer. Example would be this.
C:\Documents and Settings\**Name here**\My Documents\My Pictures
The part that says "**Name here**" is the part I want to change. Is there any way I can change it and if so, how?
I've already changed the user name and the registry, but I don't know how to change that part...if it's possible.

Hey RichB,
Why not just create another user with the name you want? You can also use the file and settings transfer wizzard in the System tools, to transfer over all of your settings.

Run>type
control userpasswords2
select the user--->properties, change there. I dont know if that will affect where you want it, or if it will affect anything negtively, but give it a try and post back

In Windows Explorer, you can simply rename the entry you want. If your example, you can right click on the **Name here** entry, hit rename, and type in whatever you want. Try it. You can always rename it right back to whatever it was.
NOW -- I don't know what long-term problems, if any, that will give you. It may, for example, depending on what name you eliminated, prevent an installation from ending up in the right place. Just don't know without more research.
Look for other responses.

I'm trying to do this as well. Control Panel>Users doesn't work.
