I have a German PC with German Windows XP from when I was living abroad. I am now thinking of upgrading to Vista but this time in English so firstly is this possible with a German PC? Secondly I have an expensive German layout keyboard and wondered if this can still be used on English Vista?

if you want to 'upgrade', it's strongly recommended that you perform a 'clean' installation. so, yes, you can use the english version of vista. even if it is possible to install vista over a different language xp, it could get messy.

you can use any keyboard with the english version of vista, all keyboard layouts (even the expensive ones :-) are supported.

it doesn't make a difference to the provider wheher your pc is english, german or chinese (unless your your provider is forced by the BND not to host foreign language computers :-)

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

Dear Mattie,

Are you sure you can clean-install Vista with Upgrade Vista DVD using a different language version of XP CD as proof of a previous Windows purchase ?
