Ok, i upgraded to xp from winme, and i wanted to know how i could change the filesystem to ntfs without formatting..Only reason i want to do this is because it seems that Half-life doesn't wanna work in fat32, maybe it'd work if i installed in on ntfs? :/ Well if i could just install winme over this again i'd be fine, but i know i cant really do that so i need to figure out a way to get all this s--- working without formatting :)

I had that problem too. I reinstalled my geforce2mx with a detonator3-driver(650).Even though xp already had installed my graphics card, and then it worked.

You Can Do It!

from the command prompt: type "convert c: /fs:ntfs" I think this is the command , just go to xp help type in convert ntfs it will tell you the proper command, can't remember it for sure. it takes about 30 minutes to convert.
after entering the command it will tell you thast the process is running and cannot complete conversion, it will also tell you that it will be completed at next reboot.

Happy NTFS ing

The Reason why it says OPENGL CARD NOT SUPPORTED is because you havent installed your display drivers. I know the default drivers that came with xp work, but you need your opengl32.dll updated. So go download the new detenator drivers and it should work

I had Win ME on my computer and upgraded to Win XP. I opted to leave the drive as FAT32 but I now want to change it to NTFS (I have another slower computer with Win XP + NTFS and it is much quicker). Is there some way I can change to NTFS without wiping all my files? I tried to re-install Win XP but when I selected NTFS, I was only given the option to change to NTFS system and loose all my data on drive C, or to abort the install (which I did). I may be wrong but if I use the DOS command convert c:/fs:ntfs, it'll format the drive and I'll loose all my data.
Many thanks,

To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt
Open Command Prompt.
In the command prompt window, type
convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.

Notes

To open command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
You can convert FAT or FAT32 volumes to NTFS with this command.
