Changing BIOS Settings When Non-Administrator

September 17, 2009 at 17:45:44
Specs: Windows XP
I recently got a laptop which has an
administrator account with a password which
I do not know. I need to make it boot to CD so I
can reformat, but in order to do so I need to
change that in the BIOS. The problem
however is that I cannot change any systems
as a non-administrator. Any way I can do
this?

That also requires me to be able to boot to CD, which I cannot make my laptop
do due to the admin password being unavailable.

So you're referring to the BIOS password (Supervisor) password? It would help if you posted the manufacturer and model of your laptop.

Why don't you just ask the person you bought it from?
