Changing an exe file's icon

Can anyone tell me how I can change the generic exe icon to a customized icon? I have heard that there are freeware programs that can do this type of thing? Thanks in advance.

Use Resource Hacker http://download.cnet.com/Resource-H... It is easier than it may appear. Do back up the original. Bryan
