hi there!
ok, I am going to give an example of something that has been happening for the past few months, that I have noticed anyway.

3 hours ago I had 7.5GB of free space on my hard drive, now I have almost 10GB. How do I find out what was there, that isn't now. I haven't deleted anything except 5 files that ad-aware found. But they wouldn't take up 2.5GB right?
Is there any way to find out why or how this is happening?

Thank you.
Jen.

If one of the files that had a .scr extension, this could have been a virus. I ran into this problem before - this virus consumed between 2-3 gigs of space every time the computer booted up, but it was solved when the file was deleted. By the way, if this was the problem, the files were saved in the temp directory (start - run -temp), and they had file names like music downloads. I saw this happen from file sharing software. Moral of the story - run adaware weekly and use virus software!
Have fun with your free space!
