Ok I have encountered a new issue. I have this computer a friend gave me that had XP home on it. I wiped it clean and installed XP 64. Right now I am just goofing around with it but I have run into one I just can't rap my head around. I use dvd decryptor and sometimes ImgBurn to burn DVDs on this machine. Now both programs, same burner, same media get stuck at synchronizing cache and do not finalize. The firmware for the burner is up to date. Everything I see on the net says these programs work with 64 bit. I am so stumped. I am thinking maybe I turned a service off that is needed I have a bad habit of that but which one?

Everything I see on the net says these programs work with 64 bit.

DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 is the only one that I am aware of that truely worked in 64 bit mode. Is this the version that you have.?

You might look into DVD fab Decryptor as an alternative .

There has been this issue with DMA sata drives and burning software. You might try to reset the DMA of the drive.

A patch from microsoft might also work.

Ok tried the patch and got alert that my current service pack is newer than the patch so it was not needed. Dvd decrypter is the right version. I'll have to check into buying dvd fab decrypter and trying that. I believe I now have DMA enabled on this drive and get the same results although with it being a Sata drive i am not sure how to check other than Nero info tool and it says DMA is turned on.
