Hello everybody,

Now and then i used to have problems related to my memory chips (Dual channel) I found out that they were corrupted.

Now that i got replacement memory from the store, is it normal that certain program are still giving me a blue screen ? For example, AVG, Nero at the end of a burn, etc. By the way my new memory is fine.

Can Windows be associated in some way to my previous bad memory chips. And since the new one is fully functional, it does not completely find it's way ?

Am i making sense folks ?

I really don't want to re-install everything just because of faulty DIMMs.

Thanks.

Zenno

Try this to repair the system--How to do a system repair.--Boot from the xp cd and go past the recovery console to the install menu. Select repair the existing installation. You won't lose any data except the xp updates. Unless you have a slipstream sp1 cd you will have to d/l sp1 and all subsequent updates. Be sure the firewall and A/V is active before going online as you will be susceptible to sasser and msblaster. If you don't want SP2 go to autopatcher.com and d/l SP1 and subsequent updates.

Thanks !

I have XP SP1a with all the updates. I will try it if you're sure that i won't lose any of my other data.

So you think that it could be related to my previous corrupted memory ?
