hi guys,
i use a compaq laptop with intel 10/100 lancard, is there any way i can change the mac address of the same...
i tried a utility from klcconsulting.net but it didnt help

the only way to change the MAC address is to change the card.

yep, the mac is hardcoded in the firmware of the card, cannot be changed without changing the card it's self.

You can easily change the MAC address in XP with a program called SMAC. It is a free download at http://www.klcconsulting.net/smac/. The MAC address can also be spoofed in Windows98 but that requires a registry hack.
Obviously this does not change the hard coded address but it does fool Windows into reporting back whatever address you specify. It works well.

amac mac address change can change mac address under all window os. i.e.windows95/98/2000/xp/2003/nt/me

I tried amac, but it was so confusing, GUI is not intuitive at all, can't find the NIC I currently use... Scanning take forever... terrible.
I then tried SMAC, and it was so easy to use, and it got very intuitive GUI. I changed my MAC address within 1 minute. SMAC ROCKS!!!
