Comment:
I cannot change the default file types in folder options. The change button is shaded in the file types screen and I cannot click it to change what program the extensions launches. I am logged in as the administrator. Any help?

CG, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 123 (Right Column) "Disable Changes to File Associations - Undo" and click on the underscored word "Undo" to download a .reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.
Edited to add: If that doesn't correct the problem try line 314 (left column) "File Associations are Greyed Out"

Any extension.
Tufenuf: I tried both of the REG files you recommended but they did not let the change work. I did just re-install xp last weekend so I know that is what caused this problem. I could use the change button before but not since re-install xp.
Any other ideas?
