change file format to NTFS

I have 2 partion .i install in one win 98 and in the atehr win xp pro .i want to know if i format the partion with the windows 98 with the ntfs would this affect the win xp . and if format one partion this will not affect the ather partion . ps: i don't need win 98

I ain't sure but if 98 is on c: formatting this might upset your boot up environment. As I said I'm not 100% sure but it might be worth some extra research.

If u do that, you will have to reinstall XP too as the NTFS will overwrite your MBR (Master Boot Record). MBR is required to boot the computer.
If u do not have any important material on Xp, then format all ur drives into NTFS using the Installation CD of XP
