certain web sites won't load

November 20, 2009 at 13:02:49
Specs: Windows XP
I'm currently having trouble accessing a couple web sites in my browser that I recently had no trouble accessing. My Internet connection is fine. I'm able to browse elsewhere online. It's just these particular web sites now that I can no longer load for some reason and I get a blank page whether I use Firefox or I.E.

The sites I can't access are: auctiva.com slingmedia.com slingbox.com

I've checked to see if those sites were down or if it's just me and it seems that those sites are up and working. It's just on my end.

Does anyone else have trouble loading those sites? I'm not sure what it could be. Could it have something to do with the hosts file, DNS, the router or some infection on my computer?

It's easy enough to check your hosts file.
Start - Run - Type - c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc - OK
Use only NotePad to open your hosts File.
It's first on the list, no extension.

Website on how to use the hosts file.
