Just got a new computer, Sony Vaio. This is my first computer with a CD burner. I'm putting my images files on a CD-RW, but I can't seem to delete some files that are on the CD. Says, "Read Only"..
I know of no way to remove a file from a CDR or CD-RW once it has been written to the disc besides erasing the entire CD if it is a CD-RW disc. Once you burn something to a CD it will become a read only file. You can open it, copy it but you can't move it or delete it as you would with a fille on your hard drive or a floppy disk.
If this does not answer your question, let me know.

If you're looking to use a CD-RW disc as a big floppy, you'll need some sort of packet writing software. Both Roxio's Easy CD Creator and Nero Burning ROM have packet writing software, and other software companies like NTI produce their own versions as well.
Packet writing allows you to copy files to a formatted CD-RW, erase single files without harming other files on the CD-RW, and basically use it like a big floppy diskette.
