I am looking to upgrade my Burner (Yamaha 8 * 8 * 12) - just doesn't cut it anymore.

Anyone got a good recomendation for a new one? I am really looking for something that is stable on XP and can write at much faster speeds.

Thanks

If you are not going to try nothing fancy, like copying "write protected CD's", just about any burner will do, I just picked up a "Buslink 48x24x48" at Best Buy store for $20 after rebates. This unit is actually a "LiteOn" which is one of the better units,,, in my opinion.........

I have a TDK VeloCD 24x and would recommend any TDK burner. Of course, you can get 40-someting speeds for around $50 or less. Most things I've read consider Plextor to be very high quality and LiteOn is well-reviewed too.

Just keep in mind that whatever you buy, it will be obsolete by the time that you get it home from the store.

Thanks everyone - appreciate the tips. Just curious :-) Beth - what would you recommend if I did want to burn protected CDs?
