I would like the opinion of some more experienced users than myself. I have some CD-RW's that I would like to use over. The question is would it be best to reformat these to basically wipe them clean and start over fresh to avoid any potential problems? I use Roxio CD Creator. Thanks Bluejay

Don't use your program, but I would think the best way would be to use your program and then Erase or format the disc. If you place a CD-RW into your drive the program should auto detect and give you the option.

CD-RWs are also pretty standard and you shouldn't have any problems unless you using packet writting... but even then, you should have no problems erasing them.

When I re-write entire CD-RWs with Roxio, I usually do the "Quickl Format" option. I have had a few instances where a bootable CD-RW would not boot unless this was done first.

Rule #1 Good computers don't go down.
Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

The whole value to using cd-rw's is to be able to easily erase them. Don't make it more difficult then it has to be, erase whatever you want in Windows Explorer.

I don't use rewritable media any more. The CDs weren't as readable/recognizable as the those done with regular media and regular media is now so cheap.

Not only is that true I found that no matter what brand I was using, they corrupt and can't be read after about the 5th use anyway, so I haven't used them in ages.
