Comment: Please help! I have recently installed a new CDRW into my PC. It is set up as primary slave and my system recognises the device on start up. My OS (Win XP Pro) recognsies the device details too but when i insert a CD (blank or otherwise) it cannot read the data or write to the CD. Windows does not say 'insert a CD' so it knows there is one loaded but it just cannot read it. When i put the CD into my DVD device it reads it perfectly. Can anyone help - its so frustrating! Many thanks.

Reply: If you right click the Drive with a CD inserted and select 'explore', is the contents of the CD showing?

Reply: tried right clicking with a cd loaded - the cd spins and the data light flashes but no files are showing at all!

Reply: install all/necessary programs that came with the CD-RW. Install latest driver for the CD-RW drive.
