I tried using the xp cd writing wizard, and ever since that it does not work anymore. It doesnt read cd's or anything. whats problem?

Do you get any error messages or "Please insert disk into drive..." messages, when you try to open the CD Drive in Explorer? Or does the icon for the driver even show up in Explorer? A little more info is needed. Or is this purely a problem with the CD Writing Wizard? If it is I can help you with that since my Wizard wasn't working, but after tweaking the registy I was able to fix it. Let us know.
No time for love, Dr. Jones!

No error messages, I just bought the drive 2 days ago, so I know it shouldnt be a problem with the drive. It was working fine all day until I unistalled Nero, and then I was trying to make this disk, so instead of reinstalling nero i figured i would just drag and drop and use the wizard. All worked well until the end of the data, then it said failed to write, and it only wrote half of it. So i figured I would put the nero cd in and reinstall nero to burn the data, I put the cd in, and nothing. So i went to My Computer and clicked on the D: drive and it opened up, but nothing on the cd, so I put in another cd, nothing, and another, nothing.

It doesnt read any cd's, and and when I click on the drive, it doesnt ask for a cd, just takes you to a blank drive

I don't know what is wrong with it, system restore will be on a last resort basis, I will try rebooting with a cd in it, and other little things.

tried rebooting, unpluggin the ide cables and power, then started windows, rebooted plugged back up started windows again, the drive shows up, but doesnt read cd's or anything
