I had a question about using some linux apps in xp. For instance i really like the idea of workspaces in ubuntu but was wondering if there is something similar avalable for xp.

Another question i had if completely different so here it is. I have just gotten into burining and have bouught a pack of rewritables. I have burned a back-up disk and was wondering if there is any way to erase seperate files and not delete the entire contents of the disc. I have put some usefull downloads in the disc and would like keep updating the dopwnloads when updates are available for them. In order to do this i was wondering if there was a way to delete individual files from the disc. The burning program i use is nero 7 express.

Oh did i mention that i am a newbie and can only follow specific directions ;).

Thanks in advance.

Do you have InCD included with your version of Nero? If so, that is packet writing program that works similiar to a Harddrive. You can replace files, add, delete, etc.

Dexpot:

You can easily switch between desktops from the tray icon, or via hotkey

Yod'm 3d:

By default, the rotation of the cube is done with the keys CTRL+SHIFT+Arrows :

* CTRL+SHIFT+Left/Right = Next/prev desktop

* CTRL+SHIFT+Up = Activate and show a "far" view of the current desktop, Left and right to turn the cube

* CTRL+SHIFT+Down = Activate and show a "near" view of the current desktop, Left and right to turn the cube

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT to use the mouse to turn the cube.
( The rotation is possible only horizontally )

To move a windows to another desktop :

* Click on the title bar of the window (not maximized if possible), hold down
* Push CTRL+SHIFT to activate the cube, hold down
* When the cube is activated, move the window on left or right
* Release CTRL+SHIFT

To change the wallpaper of a desktop :

Just use Windows !
For each desktop, change the wallpaper using the windows display setting.

Switch to another application :

Click on the Yod'm 3D icon in the taskbar, the list of the windows opened in other desktop appear.
Click on the application to switch to the desktop.

Also another question for the cd, if you burn an audio disc on a cd-rw and finalize it, will you be able to erase the disc afterwards.

yes, you can always erase/format a CD-RW disc ... in nero you find this option in the 'recorder' menu
